I’m going to the Dour festival in Belgium and I’ll be collecting bands/musicians that I think I -and maybe you too- should check out. Expect this list expanding until the day I’ll leave for Dour..

• Brutal band called Amen Ra. Sounds like ISIS or Neurosis. If dark and slow metal ambiences are your cup of tea you should check them out. I know I will!
• Nice folky music by Catherine Feeny. It sounds a bit dreamy and maybe sometimes a bit too sweet, but if the weather is good…..I’ll probably will be lying on the grass listening to her voice.
• ISIS is a band that I’m waiting for the see live for quite some time! Finally they are coming to Europe. If you like slow, trancelike dark metal than you should check them out and while you’re at it check out Neurosis as well. Together with Amen Ra this would be a nice package to listen to.
• Felix da Housecat is one of those Dj/Producers that I really enjoy listening to. For some reason he knows to combine the electronical sounds in such a way that it sounds like rock ‘n roll. The reviewers catogorize it under electroclash, but thats just one of those “hip” names for musica that combines new wave punk and electronic music. So if you like rock ‘n roll style electronic music go to Felix.

• The sounds of outer space…Space Audio…weird
• FireFox guerilla marketing…some FireFox promo movies.

• Recently arrived in the mailbox and currently reading Rhythm Science by Paul D Miller aka Dj Spooky
