Let it rain down…

Interesting advertisement by WWF Canada
WWF Canada created a billboard for the campaign ‘Save our Climate‘ (silly Flash site alert!) which uses a really neat and clever way to convey their message about global warming. Most interesting from a tech/geek perspective is the low-tech angle in creating this. They seem to use only the sun and some board cut with an interesting pattern casting a shadow similar to a waves pattern. During the day the shadow resembles a rising tide ‘drowning’ the message. Brilliant idea!

Stranger than fiction? Invest in clean water
This image shows a webpage of Robeco an investmentfund offering investments into water.
I visited the website after I saw this commercial (only annoying Windows Media) on the Dutch television mentioning this fund sometime ago. Somehow I find it sort of surreal and kind of sci-fi. Replace the word water with air and you might experience the same. Who would have thought investment funds would sound like environmentalists? Then again, who would have thought Greenpeace buying shares in Shell?
ps: I’m glad to see investment funds take an interest in the enviroment and I do hope we all will benefit from this.

The first step — especially for young people with energy and drive and talent, but not money — the first step to controlling your world is to control your culture. To model and demonstrate the kind of world you demand to live in. To write the books. Make the music. Shoot the films. Paint the art.Chuck Palahniuk
