MY NAME IN ARABIC: ?????
I just stumbled upon this nice little tool to translate from/to Arabic and English. Apparently my name spelled in Arabic is: بجورن
Can any Arabic speaking person tell me if this بجورن really means Bjorn?

As for your name, is it really pronounced like it’s written? B-j-o-r-n? Or B-dj-orn? I believe there must be something about how you say it, otherwise you way you wrote it is correct.
I tested the new tool you talked about but it didn’t translate from English to Arabic, it only put the English sentence in Arabic letters which made no sense.

The pronounciation is a bit different because my name is written like this: Björn (notice the dots on the o) this means it would be pronounced in English something like this: B-earn. As most computers and software have issues with the dots I tend to leave them out of it.

I noticed the dots and the name looked ‘Scandinavian’ to me, that’s why I asked about about the J there. That said, the way you wrote your name in Arabic is wrong.

As Reem has pointed out the transliteration (phonetic) my little app did is not quite right for your name as Bjorn is pronounced more like Byorn. the Arabic should actually be as follows …

Oh and in addition as I mention above the tool is actually doing transliteration rather then translation (i.e. just changing the alphabet to english and vice versa)
The reason for this was to help me slightly in my learning process of Arabic, it allowed me to change sentences in arabic to the english character sets I could then recognise some of the spoken arabic i know already in written text.

there are plenty of people interested in it and I really like your tool as it makes it easy to gain somewhat of an understanding of a difficult language such as Arabic. Keep up the good work and good luck with learning Arabic.

Good attempt. I agree with the “translation” vs “transliteration” comment. I tried plugging in “Virginia” into it, and got something like ????????, which uses the fake/modern “V”. My teacher at tolearnarabic.com where I studied Arabic for a few months rendered it with the “fe” as there is no v in traditional arabic texts, as in “fearginia”.
